Meet Dr. Lacie Lazaroe

Dr. Lacie Lazaroe completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in child and adolescent psychology at the University of Florida in 2021. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the USF Rothman Center for Neuropsychiatry in 2021-2022. Dr. Lazaroe has been passionate about patient care, particularly working with OCD and anxiety disorders in youth, since beginning her undergraduate research work through the UF OCD Program in 2013. She is also passionate about clinically-informed research, and completed her dissertation on the efficacy of a week-long, day summer camp intervention on youth with OCD and anxiety disorders. She is very proud to have served as a director of Fear Facers Summer Camp at the University of Florida from 2017-2020.

Dr. Lazaroe has received nearly a decade of specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (CBT/E/RP) from the leading experts in anxiety and OCD treatment. She has expertise in assessment and treatment of severe and extreme OCD and anxiety disorders across the lifespan. During her fellowship, Dr. Lazaroe received specialized training and built expertise in evidence-based treatment (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics [CBiT] and Habit Reversal Training[HRT]) of tics, Tourette’s disorder, and body-focused repetitive behaviors, such as hair pulling/trichotillomania and skin picking. Dr. Lazaroe also has expertise in treatment of depression and mood disorders, phobias, adjustment issues, insomnia and sleep disorders, disruptive behavior, gender dysphoria, social skills deficits, family conflict, and school refusal. Dr. Lazaroe has also received specialized training in assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder across the lifespan, and has expertise in differential diagnosis of ASD, ADHD, trauma, and anxiety.

Dr. Lazaroe is committed to continuously informing her clinical work with up-to-date research on evidenced-based treatments and factors influencing therapy efficacy. She believes it is always important for patients and parents to be aware of up-to-date research findings and what can best help them, and loves working with patients to learn and adapt empirical findings and recommended practices into their everyday lives.

Dr. Lazaroe is incredibly excited to continue her career as a scientist-practitioner in a private practice setting. In her spare time, Dr. Lazaroe enjoys reading, watching films, and going to Disney World with her family. After a productive therapy session, Dr. Lazaroe loves letting her patients meet her pet dog, Wednesday, and some of her favorite topics to discuss with patients are their favorite Netflix tv series and Taylor Swift era.
